The weekend is here again! I am so glad. If I'm being honest, and I think by now you know that for better or for worse I am totally honest all of the time on this blog (even when you wish I wouldn't be), every Friday I start singing "Everybody's Workin For the Weekend" which automatically makes me think of the Chippendales skit on Saturday Night Live with the Patrick Swayze and Chris Farley dance-off. So, there you go. I really do have a knack for setting my life to 70s and 80s music.
* Baby Blue Top & Khaki Skirt *
This was a casual Friday outfit when I didn't want to wear jeans. This was a pretty fun, pulled-together look: a light baby blue cotton top from Vineyard Vines (you can't see but it has a pretty crepe-like detail at the neckline, and I rolled up the sleeves for a bit more polish), a khaki skirt from Loft outlet, wooden beads from Claire's (seriously) a few years ago and my leopard flats. Done!
* Anthropologie Dress *
I embraced full-on schoolgirl in this outfit. The dress is a few years old from Anthropologie. It's kind of tough to wear because it's got the short sleeves, but the bottom is a fine wale eggplant-colored corduroy. This was a cool but not cold late Summer day, so it worked well. The top has very feminine details with lace and pleats. I wore pearls and my patent Mary Janes.
* Navy & White Striped Top & White Pants *
With the weather in that in between Summer and Fall stage, I took advantage and broke out my lightweight navy & white striped sweater (from the Gap). I love these white pants (Banana Republic, last Winter, clearance, of course), and I think the sweater looks good with them. White after Labor Day is a yes as long as it's paired appropriately with heavier fabrics. I wore my silver flats. I also got my hair cut later this day.
Yay for Friday and yay for Fall. Have a good one, ya'll! rhyming not intentional but happily noticed.
See you swoon,
