What I Wore {part ii}

Happy Hump Day!  How's everyone adjusting to daylight savings? It always takes me a week or so to feel normal after we mess with the clocks.

Recently, I shared a post about some of the outfits I put together.  Here's a round-up of some more.

* Lace Top & Mint Jeans *

I wore this out with a friend:  mint jeans, lace top and my favorite taupe patent heels (from the Ann Taylor outlet).  I thought it was a fun, springy outfit.  Mint (and really all pastel) colored jeans are all the rage right now, and I was so excited to try these skinnies from Gap.  Gap jeans happen to fit me great, so I went for it.  These are true to size and pretty short - I'm 5'1" and I ordered the regular size (not petite) ... as you can see below, they hit right at my ankle.  They would be much shorter on a taller woman.  I got them on mad sale for 40% off of their sale price - total price was $30.  I found the lace top at H&M for $30.  I've been coveting lace tops this season, but finding one that wasn't too sexy, too cheap looking, too fancy or too sheer was tricky.  I was thrilled to find this one.  I just wear a cream cami underneath.

 * Lace Top & Tan Trousers  *

I decided to Tim Gunn my lace top (i.e., "make it work") and wear it to the office.  It was a little tricky, but I think I pulled it off.  I wore my top with my tan trousers and taupe patent heels (both from the Ann Taylor outlet) and a fun long necklace from Banana Republic from a few years ago.  I thought pulling my hair back in a bun made this a bit more office-appropriate as well.

* Blue Gingham Shirt & Bootcut Jeans *

On a somewhat warm casual Friday at work, I decided to wear my blue gingham shirt that I bought at the j.crew outlet in January.  I've already worn this once before, but I wore it dressed up with grey pants and turquoise statement necklace.  I thought I'd try it with my yellow beads, a yellow belt, my favorite boot cut jeans and my cowboy boots.  I have yellow flats too, and I gave them a whirl, but it looked way too matchy-matchy for my taste.  So boots it was.  As I look at this picture, I'm not crazy about the yellow belt.  Ah ... outfit hindsight.

* White Fitted Blouse & Coral Pencil Skirt *

I wanted to wear the lovely coral pencil skirt that I bought at the j.crew outlet in January.   I've worn it before and posted about it.  I wore it with a pink cardigan and pearls for a decidedly lady-like look.  I wanted to switch things up and look a little sexier this time.  I paired the same coral pencil skirt (from the j.crew outlet) with my favorite fitted white blouse (scored on clearance from Banana Republic over three years ago) with my nude patent heels.  I had this bold "gold" statement necklace from Forever 21 (also scored on clearance for maybe $4) and gold hoops.  I really liked the way this outfit came together and the way I felt in it.  I felt like I looked good.  Isn't that the goal of fashion?

I hope you're enjoying these glimpses into my daily wardrobe.  I love sharing :)

See you swoon,
