As you all know now, last Saturday was a shopping extravaganza for Shanna and me. Along with our Pottery Barn adventure we decided to stop in the Habitat for Humanity ReStore just to take a look around. We questioned ourselves for about a nanosecond when we first walked in but then in Shanna's words, "we found the mother ship". Attached to the small store in the front was a huge warehouse with many treasures, everything from cabinets, doors, windows and sinks to paint, tools and hardware and so much more! This place was amazing and the prices were just as earth shattering.
For my house I picked up a cabinet door for my bathroom so I can finally hide all of our toiletries (more on this Friday) and hinges to actually hang it up, the total for the hinges and door were $4.50. For $5.00 I walked away with a full can of high gloss Benjamin Moore paint-SCORE, and a few extras which included two strips of 7 foot mini crown molding for the tops of my kitchen cabinets, caulk, and a stain stick to touch up any stain jobs. In total I spent $14.00 and have now created a lot of little projects for a fraction of what I would have paid at Lowe's or any other home store.
I love Shanna's enthusiasm for looking at cabinet doors, this was moments before we found my door.
Shanna went in looking for kitchen cabinets, specifically upper cabinets because they are not as deep as some of the lower sets. Her plan is to create more room in the kitchen by adding a little more storage, counter space, and a seating area all in one, a petite buffet if you will. She found exactly what she was looking for and only paid $45.00! All she has to do is paint it white, add some legs to raise it up and a countertop such as butcher block or tile and voila! You will see more on this very soon.
Here is the cabinet now, stay tuned for the transformation:
Have any of you ever visited the Habitiat ReStore? What did you find? We would love to see any before or after transformations so send them our way!
See you swoon,
I highly recommend it, I want to go again and we were just there! I will have a before and after coming this Friday with my cabinet door, as long as I finish painting it tonight so I hope you enjoy!
